Your local unit can request an ATPE staff member to attend one of your meetings and make a presentation. Staff speakers have a keen understanding of how and why ATPE is your ally and your voice. Whether you’re looking for a broad overview of ATPE’s protection, advocacy and resources, or you need a speaker with exceptional knowledge in a specialized field, ATPE can deliver.

To request a speaker for your local unit meeting, complete and submit the form below. Factors that will be considered when determining if the request can be filled include the number of expected attendees and staff availability. An ATPE staff member will respond to you with suggestions on what might work best for your program. Please submit your request at least three weeks before your meeting.

State office update - Have a representative update your local unit members on state office happenings. From the ATPE Summit to current activities, a representative will inform your members on the hot topics during that time of year!

Political Involvement Training (PIT) - Learn how you can be an effective advocate for students and public education! Our lobbyists will come and teach you how to get involved using our advocacy website, TeachtheVote.org. You will learn how to use voter registration drives, PAC fundraising, election activities, voting records and communication to change the political landscape and support public education.

Governmental Relations Update - A state office representative will fill your members in on the latest changes to education laws that affect your students and your profession. Find out how ATPE advocates for you and how your local unit can help your elected officials make positive education decisions during the next legislative session.

Protection Benefits - Learn how ATPE’s protection benefits will give you peace of mind. A representative will discuss protection package components and why a union’s defense fund doesn’t offer the same protection. Your members will also learn why ATPE is not a union.

Services and Discounts - Did you know that being an ATPE member can save you hundreds of dollars a year on products and services you use every day? A representative will educate your members on how to start taking advantage of ATPE’s many cost-saving opportunities.
