How does ATPE support Texas educators?

ATPE’s insured benefits* include:

  • Up to $8 million in professional liability insurance, subject to policy limits, that helps protect personal assets in a lawsuit.
  • Employment rights defense coverage, which can pay the cost of defending yourself against certain claims—including dismissal and certification claims— whether you win or lose your case.

Separate from the insured benefits, eligible members may contact the ATPE Member Legal Services Department for support.

  • ATPE employs more staff attorneys than any other Texas educator association.
  • Quick, confidential assistance—in English or Spanish—is offered at no additional cost.
  • After-hours calls are available.

What resources does ATPE provide Texas educators?

  • The redesigned ATPE Professional Learning Portal offers more than 100 on-demand continuing professional education (CPE) courses, all included in your membership.
  • Our lobbyists report on and analyze Texas education policy at ATPE’s TeachtheVote.org, where you may also research candidates’ public education views.
  • ATPE members can save hundreds of dollars each year through an exclusive menu of 25-plus services and discounts, including deals on travel, prescriptions, counseling, school supplies, appliances, and more.

Why is ATPE the largest community of educators in Texas?

  • Coming soon: The new ATPE Online Community offers members a 24/7 opportunity to connect with colleagues statewide to brainstorm ideas and solve challenges in a supportive environment.
  • Gen ATPE programming and networking opportunities are specially designed for educators ages 30 and younger.
  • In-person networking and learning occurs at the annual ATPE Summit, at local unit and region meetings hosted by ATPE volunteers in your area, and through special programs such as Leadership ATPE, a biennial leadership cohort.
