Local Unit Checklists

February 2022
  • Allocate funds to send volunteers to the ATPE Summit.
  • Appoint a Nominations Committee to prepare for spring officer elections. (Review your local unit bylaws.)
  • To receive accurate volunteer certificates of appreciation, please submit updates to your volunteer list by February 15.
March 2022
  • Deadline: Submit state officer nominations and/or resolutions for House of Delegates consideration by March 15.
  • 2021-22 membership for student teacher, college student, retired, and public membership categories closes on March 31.
  • Promote the 2022-23 Join Early Campaign.
April 2022
  • Promote the 2022-23 Join Early Campaign. (2022-23 membership opens on April 4.)
  • Organize and hold a local unit election. Contact the state office, your regional membership specialist, or volunteer@atpe.org for assistance.
  • Distribute the state office certificates of appreciation to volunteers.
  • To receive membership applications with accurate local unit dues, please submit any local unit dues changes to the state office by April 20.
  • Make plans to attend the ATPE Summit.
May 2022
  • Promote the 2022-23 Join Early Campaign.
  • Submit 2022-23 officer and campus rep lists by the end of this month—even if your officers and campus reps will remain the same.
  • Check with your district about representing ATPE at 2022-23 new-teacher orientation(s) (NTOs).
  • Remember to thank your 2021-22 officers and campus reps.
June 2022
  • Officer and campus rep lists due to the state office by June 1.
  • Register/certify delegates for the 2022 ATPE Summit.
  • Order promotional items for your 2022-23 membership campaign.
July 2022
  • Review your NTO and campus rep boxes of membership materials from the state office.
  • Determine your local unit’s membership campaign goals for 2022-23.
  • Develop and/or attend a campus rep training for your local unit.
