After the City of Austin cancelled all SXSW events due to the COVID-19 outbreak, SXSW EDU worked to adjust programming for 2020 registrants and has since announced SXSW EDU Online, which begins this week and runs through mid-June.
 
“SXSW EDU Online is a weekly series of programming with speakers who can share their expertise, empathy, and experience, while also giving registrants a chance to actively engage with them through a Slido Q&A.
 
“While SXSW EDU Online is an exclusive opportunity for registrants to engage with speakers, we also want to be inclusive of the whole community so all videos will be available on demand via YouTube,” SXSW EDU has said in released statements.
 
Upcoming sessions and films include: 

• May 5, 2 p.m. CST, “A Science of Human Motivation for the Next Decade.” Join bestselling author Carol Dweck with psychology professors David Yeager and Mary Murphy for a discussion on how we learn and succeed.
• May 7, 3 p.m. CST, live Q&A on the film River City Drumbeat. One man dedicates his life and creates a path to empowerment for African-American youth through his River City Drum Corps in Louisville, Kentucky. Sign up to watch the film in advance!
• May 12, 2 p.m. CST, “Broder Crossing & Sacred Stories.” Authors Daniel Nayeri, David Bowles, Rose Brock, and Darcie Little Badger discuss borders, ancestral stories, and legendary heroes.
