House of Delegates elects 2021-22 state officers, adopts bylaws amendments

The 2021 ATPE House of Delegates (HOD) convened virtually July 13-14 to conduct its annual business meeting. During two days of meetings, the HOD:
- Elected 2021-22 President Karen Hames, Lewisville ATPE; Vice President Stacey Ward, Humble ATPE; Secretary Jayne Serna, Leander ATPE; and Treasurer Jason Forbis, Midway (12). Jimmy Lee, Paris ATPE, will serve as Immediate Past State President.
- Readopted ATPE’s 13 standing resolutions, allowed four current resolutions to expire, and adopted a resolution honoring 2020-21 Immediate Past State President Tonja Gray for her service, all as recommended by the ATPE Resolutions Committee.
- Adopted the 2021-22 ATPE Legislative Program as recommended by the ATPE Legislative Committee.
- Adopted eight bylaws amendments proposed by the Ad Hoc Committee on Governance that bring ATPE into compliance with the Texas Business Organizations Code by transferring authority for amending the bylaws from the House of Delegates to the Board of Directors.
