What Are Your Rights Regarding Your Employee Assignment?
Date Posted: 7/13/2021
Employees often believe they have been hired for a specific position and that they will always hold that position. It can be an unwelcome shock then if they receive word that their job assignment is being changed.
Many members in this situation have recently reached out to the ATPE Member Legal Services Department to inquire what rights and options they may have. While almost all employees can be reassigned to different positions, as we explain here on the newly redesigned atpe.org, their rights and options depend on a variety of factors, including their contract, if they have one.
In addition to this question, the revamped Common Legal Questions page provides answers to some of the most common questions educators face, including issues ranging from absences and leave to grievances, student discipline, and much more. Check out this valuable, easy-to-use resource today!
