Date Posted: 10/28/2021
With Halloween falling on a Sunday this year, many educators can take the day for themselves and celebrate in some spooky festivities of their own; however, one of the best parts of Halloween as an educator is the frightful fun in the classroom! ATPE has rounded up a handful of activities that will make the days leading up to Halloween just as magical:
- Share these Halloween Fun Facts from Statistics in Schools and this compilation of resources from the Library of Congress.
- Find Halloween printables and other activities by grade and subject on Education.com.
- Try out these 15 spooky STEM challenges from Project Learning Tree.
- Make math scary fun with these word problems from WeAreTeachers and this fractions exercise from Starfall.
- Get seven spooktacular activity ideas for the elementary classroom on the TCEA blog.
- Treat your students to this collection of videos and activities from PBS LearningMedia.
Plus: Did you know Oct. 24–31 is Bat Week? Hang out at batweek.org to learn some fascinating bat facts, find virtual events you can attend with your class, and get ideas to help these misunderstood creatures in your community.
