Over 40 sessions from SXSW EDU 2022 are now available as part of your membership through the ATPE Professional Learning Portal on the ATPE website.

These sessions can be found in the “Highest Ranked Courses” section of the portal. Sessions include:

• How Can We Save Teacher Professional Development
• Career Readiness in America: An Inaugural Report
• Building Advocacy in Classroom Connection
• Bringing Joy Back to Learning
• The Intersection of Informal & Formal Learning
• Searching for Meaning: The Future of EdTech Talent

The sessions range from 15 minutes to one hour and feature a multitude of different speakers across the education spectrum.

One example, the “How Can We Save Teacher Professional Development?” session, has this description:

“Experts believe that billions are wasted on teacher professional development each year. What can teachers do to improve their practice? Our growing body of research ‘by teachers, for teachers’ gives answers to these questions and shows that teacher professional learning that’s focused on evidence-based practices, led by teachers, and based in curriculum is more enjoyable for teachers and can boost student outcomes.”

This session is led by Sarah Johnson, CEO of Teaching Lab, which is a national nonprofit organization that aims to aid teacher professional learning and make it more equitable.

Once more, these sessions are available for free by logging in to your ATPE account and navigating to the “In The Classroom” tab and clicking on Professional Development. From that page, click “Login for member access,” and these sessions should be available straight from the homepage.
