On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Texas schools are invited to bring students (grades 5–12) to participate in Education Outreach Day at the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. This is a unique opportunity to meet ISEF finalists from around the world and participate in hands-on, interactive STEM activities.

This year’s Education Outreach Day theme is “Building a Scientific Question.” School groups will rotate among activities that pique interest and enthusiasm in STEM and help student attendees generate ideas for their own STEM research projects by building their own scientific questions based on their experiences throughout the day.

Regeneron ISEF is the world's largest international pre-college science competition and is organized by the Society for Science, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting scientific research and education.

The competition brings together high school students from around the world to showcase their independent research projects in various scientific disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Students compete for a variety of awards and prizes, including scholarships, internships, and cash awards.

There is no cost to participate, and schools can apply for financial assistance for transportation and substitute teachers. As many as 100 local and national nonprofits, universities, government agencies, and museums will be hosting student activities, including:

  • Regeneron ISEF Finalist Projects: Local students will have the opportunity to talk to finalists and learn about the mentorship, collaboration, and problem-solving that have contributed to their projects.
  • Device Discovery Zone: Students will try out a variety of lab equipment they can use to collect data in their own scientific investigations.
  • STEM Innovation Expo: Local and national STEM educational institutions and STEM-focused companies will showcase their work by allowing students to explore, play, and create hands-on STEM experiences in an expo-hall setting.
  • Finalist TED-style Talks: Regeneron ISEF finalists will engage students with TED-style talks about their journeys in STEM.
