On May 24, 2022, Robb Elementary School in Uvalde was the site of the second-deadliest K-12 school shooting in United States history. To mark one year since this tragedy, The Texas Tribune is hosting a half-day event at Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 20. The event will also be livestreamed from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on texastribune.org, as well as on demand after the event at uvalderecovery.splashthat.com/mar-com-community.
Reporters from The Texas Tribune, The Washington Post, and The New York Times will speak with mental health experts, community leaders, and parents in a three-part panel series about resilience, recovery, and healing.
Doors will open at 8:30 a.m., and lunch will be provided for registered in-person attendees. Parking will be available on campus surface lots.
