<p>July 26, 2017</p> <p style="text-align: center;"><em>Dr. David Vroonland honored by hundreds of educators</em></p> <p>Dr. David Vroonland, Mesquite ISD superintendent, was recently honored with the 2017 Administrator of the Year Award from the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE). Vroonland was presented with the award at the 2017 ATPE Summit Awards Banquet held at the Austin Convention Center on July 11.</p> <p>“During my 30-plus years in education, I have been blessed to serve and improve educational opportunities for children,” Dr. Vroonland said.</p> <p>“We are proud and excited to recognize outstanding educators who have shown their commitment to furthering public education,” ATPE Executive Director Gary Godsey said.</p> <p>Vroonland graduated from the University of North Texas with a doctorate in educational administration. He received a master’s in educational leadership from Midwestern State University and a bachelor’s in social studies education from Centenary College of Louisiana.</p> <p>The awards banquet recognized educators who have demonstrated exceptional and innovative skills in their respective education fields. More than 800 Texas educators celebrated the achievements of public school employees at the event.</p> <p style="text-align: center;">###</p> <p>The Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) has been a strong voice for Texas educators since 1980. Dr. David Vroonland honored by hundreds of educators

Dr. David Vroonland, Mesquite ISD superintendent, was recently honored with the 2017 Administrator of the Year Award from the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE).
